Btw consisting of how much information there is involving meditation. This will be an ongoing thread. So it'll be updated!
Firstly why are you meditating? It's better for me to state what would lead you to meditation than what it does to you if where to meditate. In saying that, you meditate to increase your consciousness. & as your consciousness increases it shows through your spirit in the form of
Increased mindfulness
Sharper intuition
Greater awareness
Seriously soo much more awareness you won't know what to do with it.
Mastery over your emotions
Mastery over your thoughts
Increased awareness for parts of you consciousness you wasn't aware of.
Ok so how do you actually meditate? All that fancy yoga poses lol no none of those. Find somewhere comfortable to sit. Not too comfortable that you'll fall asleep but enough that your bum won't hurt and that you're aware. Don't lie down you'll fall asleep.
Ok now are you ready for how to meditate?
Ready?!
Ok here goes...
Now while you're sitting down do nothing...at all. Be completely still.
THAT'S IT!
Honestly that's it lol. I should stop there but it's crazy how much there is to say about something so simple. So let's go back why do you have to sit down and do nothing? Do you know what mental projection is? In brief context When you say to someone "you're projecting"?
Why do you say that word? Let's talk about what projection actually is. Imagine you get into a heated disagreement with someone and out of nowhere starts accusing you and or your personality of so and so.
Those accusations, if you know who you are. Become so much more and more inaccurate that the person staying ABC about you has to be talking about themselves rather than you as they say. The word projecting is used because they took what they think of themselves mentally then
PROJECTED it to you. Everyone projects, but there are healthy ways to do it. When you meditate you are projecting but instead of inside your mind to outside your mind. It's outside your mind to inside your mind. What are you projecting into your mind? Your awareness/attention.
It's important for me to make that remark because in meditation you do not have anyone to project to. So you do it to yourself inwards.
That's why you have to sit still.
Your physical body is very linked to your mental body.
Almost directly proportional.
When someone enters their mind they enter it in the state the body is in. You meditate to still your mind; So still your body first to eventually still your mind
From there. While your body is still. Don't focus on anything around you. Only what's inside you. There's two ways to go about this:
If you focus on what's inside you literally then notice the sensations that come up inside your body. Watch them. Don't react to them. Just observe
If you take it metaphorical then focus your attention on what goes in your mind. Watch what thoughts arise. Again DON'T react to them. Just observe. They will come and go.
Lmk when you've all caught up because there's way to construe with
Kmt i mean continue
Anyways carrying on
So we'll start with the body. If you decide to focus your attention there. While trying to meditate, start scanning your body for any sensations OR you can also focus on any physical sensation you casually, currently feel and it'll grow in awareness. As in that feeling increases
